I haven't been talking up the pop culture on the show for a while and I haven't just sat back and had a good conversation for even longer, on this episode ogf MPAD I get to do both. I sit down with my friend, J. Celestino from Any Day In June and talk about what TV shows we stuck out the season with, what music we're liking and movies. I also brought aong a few songs to share with you and J. Btw, "Basic J." is an early song by Gary Numan, that later became "Jo the Waiter".

I spent last weekend at Motor City Comic Con and had a great time buying some hardcover trades and talking to the artists. Being an independent comic artist at a comic convention is hard work that often goes unappreciated as people flock over to the B-movie stars or bargain bins, leaving out artists that pour their life into drawings and creating books that we relate to so much more than the superhero of the week. On this episode I interview three such comic artists that also have a connection to DJing. Enjoy the episode and check out the work the guys do because it's really great stuff.

So maybe I'm going overboard with this, but on this episode of MPAD, I have the full interview with the Pains of Being Pure at Heart. Two weeks ago I played a track from them, last week was the video, this week is the interview. What can I say? PoBPAH is one of my favorite bands of 2009. During the interview they also mentioned 2 bands that I play this episode that are new finds for me - Girls and the Manhattan Love Suicides.
